It ticks ‘must-see’ boxes such as the Cliffs of Moher and Blarney Castle – but that’s not all. Meander in our luxury mini-coach through the stunning scenery of Kerry and the Wild Atlantic Way. You’ll visit a working Irish sheep farm and take a whiskey tour, while immersing yourself in all things Irish. Staying two nights each in Kinsale and Dingle means you can really soak up the atmosphere and switch off completely.
The real Ireland in Six Days
Learn phrases of the Irish language (other than póg mo thóin!). Let your heart and feet beat to the rhythm of Irish music and song. Play the ancient Irish sport of hurling. Travel through West Cork, into Killarney and along the Ring of Kerry towards Dingle, onto Clare and Galway. Along the way you’ll dine on the freshest of local seasonal produce. And, being chauffeured around in luxury, means that you can sample the local brews or a glass of wine with lunch should you so fancy.

Did we mention stunning scenery? And not just the rugged tones of greens and blues created by our coastline. Encounter some of the prettiest towns and villages you are ever likely to see. Irish hedgerows are full of exotic wildflowers that originated in far-flung places as removed as South Africa and the Dominican Republic. Early blooming Rhododendrons to late summer Montbretia, allied with the colour of our native wildflowers all lead to merrily dappled country roads to meander along.
Experience Irish artisans at their Craft
We love the unexpected moments and little surprises that can happen on tour in Ireland. These may be ‘sheep jams’ or an artisan craftsman restoring a traditional thatched Irish cottage. We can’t make them happen, but taking some of the lesser travelled roads means we get to see more. Being a sustainable tour operator, we will also ensure that you get to visit and see skilled local family craft businesses at work.

If you’re a history buff, you’ll enjoy our telling of the tales of derring-do of this Irish polar explorer. he was hailed as ‘an ordinary man who did extraordinary things’. Six Day South West Ireland Tour Itinerary

Day 1 (Monday) – South to Kinsale
Early (ish) departure from Dublin. Our first stop is the Rock of Cashel or Cahir Castle, after which we head for the the famous Blarney Castle and Gardens (admission included in tour price). Once you’ve been newly endowed with the gift of eloquent speech, or simply wandered the magnificent gardens, it’s a short hop to our overnight in the coastal town of Kinsale – one of Ireland’s top gourmet towns. Our pad for the night is Acton’s Hotel, overlooking the harbour.
Day 2 – Around Kinsale and Cork
Fortified with a hearty breakfast, it’s time to continue our adventure, visiting 17th century Charles’ Fort (included in tour price). We take a scenic coastal drive to Old Head, and hear of the sinking of the Lusitania, the wreck of which lies just 11 miles off the coast. Learn about conspiracy theories, the role of an Irishman in her sinking and how a US billionaire gifted it to the State.
The afternoon can be given over to free time in the town, with its quaint backstreets, or for those that wish we can nip into Cork City and look at the Shandon Bells, the Shaky Bridge and the famed English Market.

Day 3 – To Killarney National Park and Dingle
Today is all about fresh air and nature, in the majesty of Killarney National Park. After a gentle stroll along a woodland path to Torc Waterfall, it’s the choice of a hike or jaunting-car ride* around the lakes. Visit magical Muckross Abbey and keep an eye out for wild native red deer and eagles. Another option is a visit to the stately Muckross House, where Queen Victoria once stayed.
Time to head for Dingle. Dingle is a great town – renowned for its food (Previous winner of Foodie Town of Ireland), music and lots of pubs for its size! At least two bookshops, galleries, craft shops and more. And probably the best ice cream in Ireland. It’s also one of the areas where our native tongue (Gaeilge) is spoken. We’ll be teaching you a ‘cúpla focail’ (a couple of words), you should at least be able to say ‘Hi’ by the time we get there.

Day 4 – Around Dingle and one of the world’s most scenic drives
Staying in Dingle again tonight, so no unpacking. You can relax, take a stroll around the town of Dingle with its galleries and craft shops. Or maybe take a more gentle boat ride around the bay.
We can also arrange horse-riding along a beach, and sea kayaking or traditional Irish boat rowing in Dingle harbour.
We’ll head out on what has been described as one of the most scenic drives in the world, along Slea Head. We’ll see beehive huts (a definite for Star Wars fans) similar to those on Skellig Michael, along with lots more history. We’ll visit local artisans to see their work and creativity.
Day 5 – From Dingle to County Clare and the Cliffs of Moher
Leaving Dingle, we’ll regale you with derring-do tales of a tough and adventurous local who braved the Antarctic not once, but thrice. Get a sense of those experiences when we stop to pay homage to him at his local village.
Heading towards County Clare, we visit a working sheep farm (included in tour price). Here, we’ll experience the unique bond between human and dog whilst learning all about life on the land.
After a quick stop in one of Ireland’s most picturesque villages, Adare, and its main street of traditional thatched cottages, we move on to the famed Cliffs of Moher, timing our arrival to avoid the crowds.
Then it’s just a short drive to our overnight accommodation in nearby Lahinch, where you can take a stroll along the prom (or take a swim) before dinner.

Day 6 – the Cliffs of Moher, Galway and Whiskey Making
It may be your last day with Anam Croí but it’s full steam ahead as we make an early start to drive through the magical and unique landscape the Burren. We visit historic university city of Galway, home of the Claddagh ring. Take some time to meander through the mesh of narrow streets and be entertained by buskers and dancers as you wander.
Grab some lunch before meeting up to start making our way back towards Dublin. But along the way, we’ll stop for a guided tour (included in tour price) at the home of Tullamore DEW, one of Ireland’s famous whiskey distilleries, dating back to 1829.
We’ll arrive back to Dublin between 6 and 7pm, having swopped contacts with new found friends, created new memories with old, and shared experiences, laughs and most of all, discovered what ‘having the craic’ is all about.
